Could liposuction and Botox be the new "Daddy Makeover"?

One of the hottest plastic surgery trends in recent years is undoubtedly the Mommy Makeover, a combination of procedures intended to address the physical transformations women experience after pregnancy. Dr. Christopher Craft has helped many women in Miami shed their “mom jeans” and reclaim their femininity through breast lifts, tummy tucks and other procedures. However, with Father’s Day just behind us, a writer for the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS) touched on another burgeoning trend in the industry: the Daddy Makeover.

“Men’s bodies may not go through the stress of actually carrying a child, but that’s not to say that having children doesn’t have an adverse effect [on their appearance],” the ASAPS website states.

Raising children is a truly rewarding experience for moms and dads, but there’s no denying that it is also incredibly stressful. Excessive exposure to anxiety and stress are known to accelerate the aging process, leading to more prominent wrinkles among other indicators.

Earlier this year, the Houston-based news outlet KHOU discussed the daddy makeover, and reported that a greater number of men in Texas were turning to board-certified plastic surgeons to address signs of aging and even get rid of a few lumps and bumps that they’ve packed on over the years. One father preparing to undergo liposuction to get his love handles under control told KHOU that he looked forward to being the handsome husband his wife could show off once again.
