Celebs speak up about male plastic surgery

Although female patients undergo approximately 90 percent of the cosmetic procedures performed across the country, according to the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS), that doesn’t mean that men in Miami can’t also reap the benefits for nose jobs, tummy tucks and other transformative operations.

In fact, ASAPS statistics from recent years have documented a rise in the number of men who decided to consult a board-certified plastic surgeons about the physical characteristics they were unhappy with.

But, what good are such statistics if so many men feel that it isn’t socially acceptable to show interest in their appearance? Plastic surgery has certainly become more mainstream, but some individuals may still be worried about the stigma they could face if they choose to enhance their appearance in this way.

The Huffington Post recently published a piece on this very topic, showcasing several prominent male celebrities who have been refreshingly upfront about the work they’ve had done to retain or improve their looks over the years.

Older stars, including Kenny Rogers and Burt Reynolds, have discussed their procedures frankly in interviews and memoirs. Meanwhile, the source states that radio DJ and “America’s Got Talent” judge Howard Stern has undergone rhinoplasty to shape his nose, and enlisted a plastic surgeon to create a more chiseled and defined jaw line.

Many of the biggest plastic surgery trends, including chin implants, boast as many benefits for men as they do for women. If you live in Miami and want to learn more about how plastic surgery can enhance your appearance, contact Dr. Christopher Craft today to discuss your options.
