Will 2014 be the year of male plastic surgery?

Posted on December 24, 2013 by

Male plastic surgery is becoming more common from year to year. According to the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, men made up about 10 percent of cosmetic procedures performed in 2012, and plenty of Miami plastic surgeons are optimistic about what’s to come. Recently, HealthNewsDigest reported on the diminishing stigma toward plastic surgery among males, citing some of the most popular treatments among this population.

“Many of the same quick and simple procedures offered to women can also be offered to men, like age spot elimination or injectable treatments,” the source states. “Some procedures offered are even more common among men than women, such as chin augmentation.”

Chin implants have certainly made an impact in the last year, as more men seek out the help of a Miami plastic surgeon to combat jowling and create a more commanding jaw line. Even so, this augmentation hasn’t made the list of most popular procedures as defined by the American Academy of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. Chin implants may be more common among men than women, but it seems that male clientele are also interested in eyelid surgery and nose jobs – two of the most in-demand treatments for women as well.

If you have been contemplating male plastic surgery, 2014 may be the time to finally take the plunge. Miami plastic surgeon Dr. Christopher Craft is a dedicated and discreet medical professional who can review all of your options and treat you with the respect and attention you deserve.
