Would a nip and tuck make you runway-ready?

With New York Fashion Week in full swing, all eyes are on the city that never sleeps for a glimpse at the innovative trends to come. But one plastic surgeon has also taken this opportunity to showcase a different form of artistry. According to the New York Daily News, Dr. Ramtin Kassir has recruited some of his patients to show the dramatic effects of his facial procedure – and to showcase his innovative approach to a neck lift.

“There are lot of trends out there. One is the clothes you wear. Another is the face and body you wear,” he said in an interview with the news outlet. “Just like Ralph Lauren introduces his new line, what I am introducing is esthetically pleasing plastic surgery.”  Dr. Kassir’s runway show will be taking place at a gallery near the main events of New York Fashion Week, and has already garnered a lot of attention from attendees and designers.

The idea behind Dr. Kassir’s cosmetically enhanced catwalk is certainly an intriguing and even divisive one, with some critics arguing that it could portray medical operations in too casual a light. There is merit to this argument, and this concern is also shared by many board-certified plastic surgeons.

While procedures like breast augmentation and dermal fillers can work wonders for your self-esteem, and are becoming more mainstream by the day, it is still essential to treat these enhancements with the gravity and consideration they deserve. A board-certified Miami plastic surgeon like Dr. Christopher Craft can inform you of the benefits and risks of any surgical operation to ensure you make an informed decision.
